(a) the reasons for the closure of a mini airport functioning at Pondicherry;
(b) whether the Government propose to re-establishing the airport at Pondicherry in view of the increasing demand for air facilities in the context of growing tourism and industrial needs; and
(c) if so, the action proposed in this regard?

(a) The airport at Pondicherry is fully operational. At present, only non-scheduled flights and flying club are operating at this airport.
(b) and (c) There is no plan at present to upgrade this airport due to non-commitment of any airline to commence scheduled services to this airport.
