(a) whether Jatav, Paswan, Balmiki, Passi, Raiger and Dhobi, etc. castes have been
living in lakhs of numbers in Delhi over the years ;
(b) if so, whether these castes have been kept deprived of the benefits of the
reservation made for SCs in Delhi for the Government jobs;
(c) whether the Government propose to include these castes in the list of Scheduled
Castes; and
(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (d) The Jatav, Balmiki, Pasi (not passi), Raigar (not Raiger) and Dhobi
communities have already been notified as Scheduled Castes in Delhi, vide the
Constitution (Scheduled Castes) (Union territories) Order, 1951. As such, persons
belonging to these communities are eligible to derive the benefits accorded to
member of the Scheduled Castes. As far as inclusion of the Paswan community in
the list of Scheduled Castes is concerned, no proposal in this regard has been
received from the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
