(a) whether the Government has lodged any protest with Pakistan regarding the meeting of Pak High Commissioner with some separatist leaders of Jammu and Kashmir in Delhi recently; and
(b) if so, the facts along with the response of Pakistan thereto?

(a) & (b) Bilateral talks at the level of the two Foreign Secretaries, scheduled for 25 August 2014 in Islamabad, were cancelled following Pakistan High Commissioner’s meeting with separatist leaders from Jammu and Kashmir prior to these talks.
It was conveyed to Pakistan in clear and unambiguous terms that efforts to interfere in India’s internal affairs were unacceptable, and undermined the constructive diplomatic engagement initiated by Government in May 2014.
