(a) : Whether the Mahila Coir Yojana is the first women oriented
self-employment programme in the industry;
(b) : If so, whether the scheme envisages distribution of motorized
coir yarn spinning ratts to the women coir workers who are trained to
operate the motorised ratts; and
(c): If so, the details of distribution made and training provided to women workers during the last three years and the current year?

(c) The details of ratts distributed and training provided to women
workers during the last three years and the current year are given below :
In addition to 4220 ratts distributed during 2005-06, the target is of distribution
of 19494 more ratts during 2006-07 to those beneficiaries from among those who
have undergone training during 2005-06.
