Question : REPORT OF SUBRAMANIAN COMMITTEE



(a) whether the TSR Subramanian Committee constituted to review the processes, laws and Acts related to the protection of the environment and forests has submitted its report;

(b) if so, the details thereof along with the recommendations made therein;

(c) whether the Government has examined the said recommendations and formulated action plan for its implementation;

(d) if so, the details of the action taken on each of such recommendations, so far; and

(e) if not, the time by which the Government is likely to implement the same?

(a) Yes, Sir. The report is in the public domain.

(b) The Committee has made a total of fifty five recommendations, which are annexed.

(c)&(d) No, Sir. The Government has not examined the recommendations of High Level Committee. However, the report of the Committee has been put in the public domain for wider dissemination.

(e) The Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change has not framed any timeline.
