(a) Yes , Sir.
(b) After, a preliminary study carried out in 1998-99 for
the city of Bangalore, M/s RITES had identified feasibility
of an Inter-model Transport System based on upgradation of
existing Railway lines for running of suburban commuter
trains. For detailed assessment of the revenue and cost
implication of the project, a final Detailed Project Report
(DPR) is to be submitted by M/s RITES to the Government of
Karnataka. The estimated cost of the project would be
available only after the submission of the final report.
The cost of the project will be shared in the ratio of 2/3 :
1/3 between the State Government of Karnataka and the
Ministry of Railways.
