(a) The details of major public sector agricultural research institutions, which are in the domain of ICAR, and State Agricultural Universities, are given in Annexure-I. However, the private sector agricultural research institutions are not in the domain of ICAR.

(b) & (c): There are no proposals, at present, to redefine the roles and responsibilities of ICAR institutes and State Agricultural University. However, under Zero Based Budgeting, every effort has been made to minimize overlaps and duplications. Accordingly, all the ICAR Institutes have been integrated into 71 major Plan Schemes, on the directions of Planning Commission, which are appended in Annexure-I as above.
