Question : Land of Port Trusts

(a) whether the land belonging to Port Trusts are being
encroached in the country;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the steps taken by the Government to evict the
encroachments and protect the land of Port Trusts?

(c) The following steps are taken to evict the encroachments and protect the land of Port Trusts:

(i) Eviction procedure under Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants) Act, 1971.
(ii) Allotment of land for construction of permanent houses to the slums dwellers under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Scheme in consultation State Government.
(iii) Construction of compound wall to protect the port land.
(iv) Regular Inspection of Port land and deployment of security guard.
(v) Period encroachment removal drives.
