(a) whether an agreement has been made between the Tribal Development Corporation and the
Postal Department in Andhra Pradesh to sell grocery items through Post Offices;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government has any proposal to make it compulsory in all Post Offices of the
country so as to make them to become self – reliant; and
(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b) Andhra Pradesh Postal Circle has entered into a tie up with Girijan Co-operative
Corporation Limited, an undertaking of Government of Andhra Pradesh formed exclusively for the
upliftment of Tribal people in the State of Andhra Pradesh, to retail their forest products. The
list of post offices in Andhra Pradesh Postal Circle retailing such forest produce is given in
the Annexure.
(c) & (d) The Department does not have any proposal to extend this scheme at present.
