MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE AND MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS, FOOD & PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION (PROF. K.V. THOMAS)
(a) to (c): The claims of interest subvention, under the âScheme for Extending Financi
Assistance to Sugar Undertakings, 2007 (SEFASU, 2007)â notified on 07.12.2007, are
required to be lodged with the Central Government by the nodal banks/NABARD so appointed
under the provisions of the scheme and not by the sugar mills. As on 31.03.2010, Rs.502
crore have been released to nodal banks/NABARD out of total provisional claim amount of
Rs.802 crore on this account. As such, the question of the claims of some mills pending
with the Government does not arise.
