(a) (b) & (c) Yes, Madam.
The Ministry of Water Resources has constituted Indian National Committee on Climate Change
which had identified twenty one lead institutions including academic and research
institutions such as Indian Institutes of Technology for submitting Research and Deve
lopment project proposals for basin wise studies to assess the impact of climate change
on water resources. The broad scope of the study is to assess climate change impacts
on water availability, water demands, water quality, ecology and hydrologic extremes
of floods and droughts in twenty major basins of the country. The National Institute of
Hydrology, Roorkee is the nodal agency for the same.
