Question : SCHEME FOR SITP

(a) whether the Union Government hassanctioned any funds under the Scheme forIntegrated Textile Parks (SITP) for KeralaIndustrial Infrastructure Corporation`sinternational apparel park;

(b) if so, the details thereof and if not,the reasons therefor;

(c) whether the Union Government hasreceived any proposals for developmentof textile parks in Kerala, under the SITP,if so, the details thereof including theproposals that have been rejected and thereasons therefor;

(d) whether the Government proposesto consider sanctioning Textile Parks inStates that have not received investmentsunder the SITP on urgent basis forstrengthening the textile industry in suchStates; and

(e) if so, the details thereof and if not,the reasons therefor?

(a) to (c): No Madam, No proposal for sanction of textile parks under the Scheme for Integrated Textile Parks (SITP) has been received from Kerala as per the scheme guidelines advertised from time-to-time.

(d) & (e): Based on suggestions received during the State Textiles Minister’s conference last year, Government has revised criteria to give weightage to States which have nascent textile ecosystem and invited proposals on 22nd November 2014.
