Question : PROJECTS FOR BODOLAND



(a) the details of project proposals forwarded by the State Government of Assam for implementation in Bodoland Territorial Autonomous District (BTAD) funding through NLCPR during the last three years and the current year;

(b) the details of proposals for BTAD sanctioned, amount released, utilised and achievement made during the last three years and the current year;

(c) the details of proposals that are pending and the reasons for pendency and the time by which these proposals are likely to be sanctioned;

(d) whether the Government has earmarked Rs. 100 crore annually from NLCPR for funding projects specifically for the Bodoland Autonomous Areas; and

(e) if so, the details thereof and the amount of fund sanctioned and released for the current financial year and the projects proposals taken up in this regard?

(a) to (c) The receipt of prioritized lists of proposals from the State Government of Assam, including BTAD, for funding under NLCPR are ongoing process. The projects included in the priority lists submitted by the State Government are placed before Inter-Ministerial Committee of NLCPR for assessing the viability and social-economic impact of the projects and possible retention. Thereafter, only funds for those projects which are retained by the Committee and the DPRs of which are found fit from techno-economic angle, are released to the State Government subject to availability of funds. The details of projects sanctioned for BTAD during the last three years and the current year are given at Annexure.

(d) No fund has been earmarked specifically for Bodoland Autonomous Areas under NLCPR.

(e) Does not arise.
