Question : Social Consumption Education Survey

(a) whether the Government has conducted any national social consumption-education survey from January 2014 to June 2014, if so, the details thereof; and

(b) the State-wise details of women who are illiterate, primary literate, junior high school pass, high school pass and secondary school pass and those with higher education, percentage-wise?

(a) and (b): NSSO has conducted an all-India household survey on Social Consumption on Education during its 71st round (January 2014 – June 2014). The purpose of the survey was to collect information on participation of persons aged 05-29 years in pursuit of education, the extent of use of educational infrastructure & facilities, incentives provided by the government & private areas and its impact on current attendance status of population in the educational institutions; private expenditure incurred by households on education, the extent of drop-outs & discontinuation from education and its causes. Based on the results of this survey, estimates of state-wise percentage distribution of females by completed level of education are given in the Statement at the Annexure.
