(a) to (c) There is no proposal with the Ministry to open new Butterfly Parks and Gardens
in the country including Andhra Pradesh. However, as per the information available, there
is a Butterfly Park at Bannerghatta Biological Park, near Bangalore in Karnataka. Similarly,
there is Butterfly Safari under the Thenmala Ecotourism Promotion Society at Thenmala in
Kerala. The responsibility of setting up Butterflies Parks/ Gardens is vested primarily
with the concerned State/ UT Governments. So far, no proposals have been received in the
Ministry from State/ UT Governments seeking support for opening new Butterfly Parks/ Gardens.
