(a) whether many equipments installed in and used by Doordarshan Kendras have
become outdated;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(
(c) the steps taken by the Government to replace them with the modern equipments; and
(d) the achievements made as a result of these efforts made so far in this regard?

(a) to (d): Augmentation of facilities at Doordarshan Kendras and replacement of
equipment, is a continuous process and schemes in this regard are implemented from time
to time, depending upon the availability of resources. For modernization of DD stations
and replacement of old equipment, an amount of Rs.1043 crores has been provided for in
the 10th Five Year Plan.
