(a) the estimated expenditure that the Government is likely to incur for Polavaram project;
(b) the funds released for the purpose so far; and
(c) whether the Government is considering releasing more funds to the project in the near future and if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (c) The presently approved cost of project is Rs. 16010.45 crore (irrigation component - Rs.12294.40 crore) at 2010-11 price level. Central Assistance (CA) of Rs.562.47 crore was provided for this project under AIBP up to 31.03.2014.
After declaration as National project, Ministry of Finance, Government of India vide their Letter F.No.1(2)/PF-I/2014(Pt) dt.30.09.2016, informed that it will provide 100% of the remaining cost of the irrigation component only of the project for the period starting from 01.04.2014, to the extent of the cost of the irrigation component on that date.
CA of Rs.3364.16 crore has been released for this project up to 31.3.2017 after it was declared as National Project on 1.4.2017. During 2017-18 CA of Rs.979.36 crore has been released and sanction of another Rs.318.222 crore and Rs.284.978 Cr. has been conveyed to NABARD.
