Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) IN THE MINISTRY OF TEXTILES (SHRI SANTOSH KUMAR GANGWAR)

(a) & (b): Yes, Madam, Government has been implementing Scheme for Integrated Textile Parks (SITP) to create infrastructure for organized textile industry. This is demand driven scheme. The Government of India (GOI) assistance under the Scheme is limited to 40% of the project cost subject to a ceiling of Rs. 40 crores.

(c): A list of the Textile Parks sanctioned till date and employment generation in these parks are enclosed at Annexure-I.

(d): Since the scheme has pan India coverage, State/UT-wise evaluation has not been done. However the scheme was evaluated by Gherzi Eastern Ltd in 2007, by Ramky Enviro Engineers Ltd in 2009 and by M/s Spectrum Consultants in 2012. Apart from these evaluations, Ministry is also taking review meetings from time to time to oversee the performance of the textiles park.
