(a)whether farmers are forced to sell their foodgrains at cheaper rates for want of sufficient procurement centres;

(b)if so, the steps taken by the Government during the last two years for opening such centres near the area of production or the market places; and

(c)the State-wise details of the outcome of such measures taken during the last two years?

(b):State Government and Food Corporation of India open sufficient number of procurement centres near the area of production and market places, based on requirements.

(c):Purchase centres operated by the Food Corporation of India and State Government and its agencies during the last two years for Kharif and Rabi Marketing Seasons is at Annexure I & II.
