Question : Development of Tourism at Sri Anandpur Sahib

(a) whether the Government has formulated any special action-plan for the development of tourism in Sri Anandpur Sahib parliamentary constituency under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) the details of the execution of beautification work on the Anandgarh-Takhat Sri Keshgarh Sahib Road, tourist facilitation centre with cafeteria and parking, construction of parking adjoining Virasat-e-Khalsa and beautification of interconnecting roads of Gurudwara Sri Keshgarh Sahib, Sri Bhora Sahib and Sri Fatehgarh Sahib; and
(d) whether the Government intends to add to this list other places of significance including but not limited to Nangal town adjoining the Bhakra-Nangal Dam, Indus Valley Civilization excavation site and museum in Rupnagar and the wetlands in Rupnagar that have immense possibilities of eco-tourism?

(a) to (d): The Ministry of Tourism under its Swadesh Darshan scheme has sanctioned a project Development of Heritage Circuit: Anandpur Sahib – Fatehgarh Sahib – Chamkaur Sahib – Ferozpur – Amritsar – Khatkar Kalan – Kalanour - Patiala in Punjab for Rs.99.95 crore in the year 2018-19. The execution of project on ground has not started.
Submission of project proposals by the State Governments/ UT Administrations under the above scheme is a continuous process. The projects under the schemes are identified in consultation with the State Governments/UT Administrations and are sanctioned subject to their adherence to relevant scheme guidelines, submission of suitable Detailed Project Reports, availability of funds and utilization of funds released earlier.
