Question : EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES



(a) whether the Government is aware of the requirement of employment for those who are undergoing skill development training and if so, the details thereof;

(b) whether the Government has launched the National Multi- Skill Mission;

(c) if so, the details thereof and the salient features of the mission; and

(d) the manner in which it is likely to increase employment opportunities?

MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) IN THE MINISTRY OF SKILL DEVELOPMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP (SHRI RAJIV PRATAP RUDY)

(a) As per a study conducted by World Bank on the impact of skill development programmes in India, it was found that an overall placement rate of 27% of trainees has been achieved. To improve upon this, the Ministry`s flagship scheme, ‘Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY)’ has included a provision for incentivizing training providers who facilitate mentorship and placement services for trainees.

(b) to (d) The Finance Minister in his Budget Speech 2015 announced National Skills Mission to be launched through the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship to aggregate skill initiatives across the country and provide standardised systems and procedures for skills training across various sectors. The Ministry has initiated the process of rolling out the Mission which is at early stage.
