(a) whether there is a proposal to set up Smart Schools with the
provision for computer literacy and studies;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) the time by which these are likely to be set up; and
(d) the number of such schools proposed to be set up in each
State ?

(a) to (d) : Development of SMART Schools in the field of
Information Technology is one of the components of the proposed
scheme of Computer Literacy and Studies in Schools (CLASS).
Initially the schools will be selected one each from the
State/UTs and the rest will be distributed suitably among the
Kendriya Vidyalayas and Navodaya Vidyalayas.
