Question : TRANS ARUNACHAL HIGHWAY PROJECTS



(a) whether trans- Arunachal Highway Projects have been delayed due to technical and environmental reasons;

(b) if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor;

(c) whether multilateral findings for Highway Projects for Arunachal Pradesh could not be secured;

(d) if so, the reasons therefor;

(e) whether the tender under BOT (Annuity) for such projects were cancelled thrice;

(f) if so, whether in addition to trans-Arunachal Highway Projects, the District connectivity roads for border areas under the same package allotted to BRO is also not being implemented;

(g) if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor; and

(h) the steps being taken by the Government to expeditiously complete such projects?

(a)& (b) There has been delay in the commencement of work in part of Trans-Arunachal Highway Project, as 2 projects with aggregate length of 718 km could not be awarded pending forest clearance.

(c) There was no such proposal.

(d) Does not arise.

(e) The bid process for 2 BOT (Annuity) projects had to be annulled on two occasions.

(f) & (g) BRO is in the process of preparation of detailed project report for district connectivity roads entrusted to them.

(h) The progress of the project is being reviewed in consultation with the State Govt. and BRO at regular interval. The matter is also being persued at regular interval to expedite forest clearance.
