(a) whether several runways in the various airports are
short of the required length and also there has been reports
of water loggings at the ends of runways in some of the
airports;
(b) if so, whether the Government has taken any initiative
to identify such faulty runways to prevent mishaps due to
such faults; and
(c) if so, the details thereof?

(a),(b) & (c) Runway length is provided as per the Category
of aircraft. Runway extension work is being undertaken at
Madurai, Trichy, Surat, Akola, Dehradun, Pantnagar, Udaipur,
Jaipur, Varanasi and Kolkata airports. Water logging has
been experienced at some of the airports during heavy rains
like at Dimapur, Mumbai and Vizag due to drainage problem of
surrounding areas. AAI is undertaking measures to overcome
the problem.
