Question : OIL INDIA LIMITED .



(a) whether the Government has received any complaints regarding alleged fraud by Oil India Limited (OIL) to dupe the State of land revenue amounting to Rs. 1000 crore in Assam;

(b) if so, whether the said amount earmarked for Corporate Social Responsibility has been misused;

(c) if so, the details thereof along with quantum of funds misused by OIL;

(d) the number of persons getting affected by leakage of gas from OIL wells at Assam during the last three years and the current year;

(e) whether the Government has taken steps to compensate gas leakage victims in Assam; and

(f) is so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a): No Madam.

(b) and (c): Do not arise in view of reply to (a) above.

(d) to (f): No person was affected by leakage of gas from OIL wells at Assam during the last three years & the current year so far. However, vegetation such as tea garden and paddy crop was affected due to gas broaching in well No. 285, Deohal area in District Tinsukia, Assam. Compensation paid to the tea garden management and others on this account (as on 31.10.2014) is at Annexure-I.
