Question : OUTSTANDING DUE ON CWG ORGANISING COMMITTEE



(a) whether the Government/Organising Committee of Commonwealth Games (CWG) owes millions of rupees to certain domestic and foreign firms involved in conducting CWG, 2010;

(b) if so, the details of such firms and the reasons therefor, firm-wise;

(c) whether the Government has taken any steps in this regard;

(d) if so, the details thereof; and

(e) if not, the reasons therefor and the time by which the outstanding amount is likely to be paid to the concerned firms?

(a) & (b): As per the information received from the Organizing Committee(OC), Commonwealth Games 2010, the claims of payment of certain domestic/foreign vendors are under scrutiny. The status of these claims is given in Annexures - I, II,III and IV. Payment/s in respect of domestic / foreign vendors have been held up due to non-receipt of deliverables / non fulfillment of obligation under contract/ court cases.

(c) to (e): The payment/s are held up due to non-receipt of deliverables / non fulfillment of obligation under contract/ court cases. These will be released on receipt of required document/s from the respective Vendors and/or settlement of litigation. Since some of the cases are under investigation by investigating agencies, payment/s in such cases will be made once the investigation/s are over.
