Question : FUNDS FOR METRO RAIL JAIPUR



(a) Whether the Government of Rajasthan has sought financial assistance from the Union Government for construction of the proposed Metro Rail network in Jaipur;

(b) if so, the details thereof alongwith the amount of financial assistance sought; and

(c) the amount of financial assistance provided/ likely to be provided to the State?

(a): Yes, Madam.

(b): The Government of Rajasthan has proposed to execute the Phase I of the Jaipur Metro Rail Project (Corridor II) from Mansarovar to Badi Chaupar of length 12.067 km at an estimated cost of Rs.3,149 crore with the financial support of Rs.630 cr in the form of Equity and Subordinate Debt from Government of India(GoI).

(c): Though the proposal has not been given any formal approval by the GoI, an amount of Rs.25.00 crore has been allocated in the Demand for Grants of the Ministry of Urban Development for the financial year 2012-13;
