(a) whether the Government is operating any fishing research centre for the development and welfare of fisheries;
(b) if so, the details of the fisheries research centres being operated as on date, State/UT-wise;
(c) whether there is any research centre in Bihar;
(d) if not, whether the Government is considering to set up modern central fisheries research centres in Bihar; and
(e) if so, the details thereof and the time by which the research centre is likely to be set up?

(b) Details of Research Centres under the Fisheries Research Institutes of the ICAR are at Annexure-I.
(c) No, Madam.
(d) & (e) The Fisheries research, development & training needs and requirements of the State of Bihar are presently addressed through the ICAR Research Complex for Eastern Region, Patna. At present, there is no proposal for setting up of new fisheries research centre in Bihar.
