Question : Payments by HHEC

(a) whether M/s Handicrafts and Handlooms Exports Corporation of India Limited (HHEC) under the Ministry of Textiles have sought certain clarifications from Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) before releasing payments of small bullion parties;

(b) whether inspite of repeated reminders to CBI the clarifications to HHEC has not been furnished during the last one year causing financial hardship to small enterprises who have concluded their agreements with HHEC in 2014: and

(c) if so, the details in this regard and reasons for the delay in furnishing comments to HHEC in respect of bullion parties who completed their agreements in 2014?

(a): Handicrafts and Handlooms Exports Corporation of India Limited (HHEC) has sought views of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in this regard to withholding payment of the bullion parties, other than M/s Edelweiss Commodities Limited (ECL), with whom HHEC has identical agreement as with ECL. Reminder also issued to CBI on 09.01.2019 for intimating present status of the ECL case and releasing the payment.

(b)&(c): No response has been received by HHEC from CBI for update on the status of releasing payments to the bullion parties
