THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF COMMUNICATIONS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (SHRI MILIND DEORA)

(a)to(d) As per Radio Regulations and provisions of National Frequency Allocation Plan-2011 (NFAP-2011), television spectrum used in VHF 47-68 MHz & 174-230 MHz and in UHF 470-960 MHz. In the present context the UHF frequency band 698-806 MHz has been identified by World Radiocommunication Conference of International Telecommunication Union (ITU) for International Mobile Telecommunication (IMT) applications. WiFi uses 2.4 GHz band which is a delicenced band and its coverage is restricted. In India the frequency band 698-806 MHz for IMT is proposed to be used as per best international practices and as per channeling plan approved by ITU.
