Question : RECRUITMENT IN DELHI POLICE

(a) whether it is a fact that the Delhi Police recognises only `Garhwali` as hilly people of Uttaranchal for the purpose of giving them concession in height for recruitment in the Delhi Police;

(b) if so, the reasons for excluding `Kumaonis` for this purpose;

(c) whether certain more categories like Kumaonis are likely to be recognised by the Delhi Police for the purpose; and

(d) if so, the time by which it is likely to be done?

(a)to(d): No, Sir. The relaxations under Rule 9 of Delhi Police (Appointment and Recruitment) Rules, 1980 are equally applicable to the residents of all hill areas on production of certificate of residence from the competent district authorities.
