(a) whether India and United States are working jointly on a project to build a first of its kind energy generating system which is expected to be far safer than the nuclear reactors;

(b) if so, the details and the salient features thereof;

(c) the manner in which it is likely to be useful to fulfil the energy needs of the country;

(d) whether any target has been fixed to complete the project; and

(e) if so, the details and the present status thereof along with the time by which the aforesaid project is likely to be completed?

However, Solar Energy Research Institute for India and United States, a Virtual Centre under Partnership for Advanced Clean Energy - Research (PACE-R) have set up India''s first test bed for next generation efficient, compact, water less super critical carbon di-oxide Brayton cycle test loop for power generation, which as per the available information, is the first test loop coupled with solar heat source.
