Question : Promotion of Animal Husbandry in Chhattisgarh

(a) the schemes in operation to promote animal husbandry in the State of Chhattisgarh including Raigarh and Jashpur;
(b) the details of locations where these schemes are in operation and the names in which these are being implemented;
(c) whether any training scheme is being run to promote animal husbandry; and
(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b) Yes Sir. The Government is implementing following schemes to supplement efforts of States/UTs to promote animal husbandry across the country including Chhattisgarh (Raigarh and Jashpur);
i. Rashtriya Gokul Mission (RGM)
ii. National Programme for Dairy Development (NPDD)
iii. Dairy Processing and Infrastructure Development Fund (DIDF)
iv. Supporting Dairy Cooperatives and Farmer Producer Organizations engaged in dairy activities (SDC&FPO)
v. National Livestock Mission (NLM)
vi. Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund (AHIDF)
vii. Livestock Health and Disease Control (LH & DC)
viii. National Animal Disease Control Programme (NADCP)

In Chhattisgarh, three projects have been approved under NPDD with the total outlay of Rs.2338.99 lakh (including Central Share of Rs. 2096.11 lakh). These projects have been approved for implementation in Balod, Champa, Jhanjgir, Raipur, Bilaspur, Raigarh, Ambikapur, Jagdalpur, Bastar, Bemetra, Durg, Kanker, Mahasamund, Balod, Baloda Bazar, Gariaband, Rajnandgaon & Dhamtari districts of Chhattisgarh.
(c) & (d) Yes Sir. Under Rashtriya Gokul Mission, training programmes are organised across the country to train Multi Purpose Artificial Insemination technicians in Rural India (MAITRIs), Professionals and Artificial Insemination Technicians.
Also, under National Livestock Mission, there is a component for Training and capacity Building under the Sub-mission on Skill Development, Technology Transfer & Extension.
