(a) the details of the information pertaining to total budget allocation and spending under pre and postmatric scholarship since 2015-16;
(b) the steps taken to expedite the process of fund disbursement and utilization of allocated budget for the purpose; and
(c) the details of the amount allocated for the residential hostels (girls), State-wise, since 2015-16?
(a) the details of the funds allocated and actual expenditure under the pre-matric and post-matric scholarship scheme since the year 2015-16 is at Annexure-I.
(b) The State Governments/ UT Administrations have been regularly requested to submit their proposals well in time. The DBT Mission has mandated that the amount of scholarship should go to the account of students by Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode. In this regard, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs has informed all State Governments and emphasised the requirement of inviting applications through online portal. This has resulted in timely receipt of applications, verification, disbursement & utilization of scholarship amount.
(c) Hostels are constructed under various schemes of the Central Government, State Government and Voluntary Organisation for various purposes. Details of the funds sanctioned under the erstwhile scheme of ‘Hostels for ST Girls and Boys’ since 2015-16 is as under:
