Question : Bank Review Committee

(a) whether the Government has issued instructions for the Public Sector Banks (PSBs) to constitute District Level Review Committees (DLRC);
(b) if so, the details thereof along with the number of such districts in the country where the said Committee has not been constituted by the PSBs, bank, State/UT-wise including Jharkhand;
(c) whether the Government proposes to take action against such banks who have not constituted the DLRC and not conveyed the sitting of DLRC; and
(d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons there for?

(a) Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has issued circular on 4.8.1983 to initiate “Constitution of the District Level Review Committees (DLRC)”.

(b) The DLRC meetings are convened by the lead banks at least once in a quarter. The state wise details of DLRC meetings held during the quarter ended on 31.12.2016 is at Annex I.

(c) to (d) RBI is following up with its Regional Offices to ensure that DLRC meetings are convened every quarter.
