Question : POWER PROJECT BY NTPC



(a) whether National Thermal Power Corporation has begun work on Ramagundam Unit, Karimnagar in Telangana; and

(b) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) & (b) : NTPC has already taken action for the establishment of a new power station with a capacity of 4,000 MW in two stages of 2x800 MW (Stage-I) and 3x800 MW (Stage-II) in Telangana. The Feasibility Report for Stage-I (2x800 MW) has been approved by NTPC on 31.10.2014 and Notice Inviting Tender (NIT) has been issued on 16.02.2015.
