(a) whether the Railways propose to introduce sleek touch screen entertainment units in some Shatabdi trains, if so, the details thereof along with the cost involved in providing such facilities;
(b) if so, the details thereof, and the progress made so far in this regard;
(c) whether the Railways are also considering to charge extra fare for providing such facilities; and
(d) whether the Railways propose to extend such facilities to other trains also and if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b): Northern Railway has awarded advertising rights for provision of on board TVs and information dissemination system for a period of 5 years in some Shatabdi Trains. This facility has been provided at no cost to Railways.

(d): As per extant policy guidelines Zonal Railways have been authorised to install on board audio/video information dissemination and entertainment system in Trains through commercial publicity route.
