Answer given by the minister

THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR POWER AND NEW & RENEWABLE ENERGY (I/C)
(SHRI R.K. SINGH)

(a) & (b): India and Germany have signed an Implementation Agreement under the Indo - German Energy Programme - Green Energy Corridors (IGEP-GEC) on 28/08/2017 in New Delhi. The main objective of IGEP-GEC programme is to improve the sector framework and conditions for grid integration of renewable energy. The programme supports directly the implementation of the Green Energy Corridors (GEC) scheme of the Government of India, which is a prerequisite for large scale grid integration of Renewable Energy.

(c): Renewable Energy Management Center (REMC), equipped with advanced forecasting tools, smart dispatching solutions and real time monitoring of renewable energy generation, can closely coordinate with the Grid Operation teams for safe, secure and optimal operations of the overall grid. The scheme is being implemented by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL).
