Question : Land Acquisition

(a) Whether the land in rural areas has been acquired to set up Public Sector Undertakings under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG);
(b) If so, the details thereof;
(c) The details of the facilities provided to the land owners in lieu of land acquisition;
(d) The provisions with regard to providing jobs by the public sector undertakings under the MoPNG to the local people of the surrounding areas whose land is acquired; and
(e) The reasons for not implementing the said provision?

(a) to (e): Central Public Sector Enterprises under Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas acquire land for their operational activities as well as for project purposes from time to time. For permanent land acquisition, payment as per market price or the rate decided by the local authorities and other consequential benefits are provided as per provisions of the Land Acquisition and Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act 2013.
