(a) & (b): Yes, Sir. A number of issues like uniform wages throughout the country, supply of sufficient quantity of tendu leaves and tobacco to beedi rollers etc have been raised in the memorandum. It has also been suggested that a Tripartite Committee may be formed to discuss these issues. The Joint Action Committee for Beedi Workers has also requested for forming the Tripartite Committee.
(c): Some of the issues raised in the memorandum by the All India Beedi, Cigar and Tobacco Workers Federation have been discussed among other in the meetings of the Central Advisory Committee on Beedi Workers Welfare Fund also. As suggested, government is in the process of forming a Tripartite Committee.
