a): Under the PMGDISHA scheme, as on 07.12.2021, more than 1.40 crore candidates have been enrolled from the rural households in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Out of these, more than 1.23 crore candidates have been trained and more than 92.82 lakh candidates have been duly certified. The district-wise detail of total number of candidates registered, trained and certified in the state of Uttar Pradesh is given at Annexure I.
(b): Under the PMGDISHA scheme, the community of candidate is captured in one of the following categories: General, Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward Classes (OBC) at the time of candidate registration. The details regarding Backward/ Most backward classes is not captured. The district-wise details of number of rural families of OBC candidates covered under PMGDISHA in the state of Uttar Pradesh are given at Annexure II.
(c): The implementation of the PMGDISHA scheme has been carried out in all the 59,000 plus Gram Panchayats of Uttar Pradesh. Various steps that have been taken to take this campaign to every nook and corner of the State of Uttar Pradesh include the following :-
i. Scaling up the awareness and promotional activities towards Digital literacy through campaigns, workshops, seminars, digital vans, etc.
ii. In order to address the low internet connectivity issues, Wifi-choupals have been established at remote locations.
iii. Rural schools have been engaged for training and examination of candidates in order to penetrate the rural populous districts of identified states
iv. Hon’ble MPs/MLAs/District Collectors have distributed the PMGDISHA certificates at various events organised by the local PMGDISHA team.
v. Some rural schools have been engaged for training and examination of candidates in order to cover the rural populous districts.
vi. Various mechanisms have been adopted to disseminate information regarding the scheme to the intended beneficiaries such as word of mouth publicity, online, print & electronic media including posters, banners, radio, newspaper, television, social media etc.
