(a) whether the Government have sought official Development Assistance (ODA) from Japan recently;
(b) if so, whether any dialogue has been held between the India Government and Japan on this issue;
(c) if so, the details thereof;
(d) whether a high level Japanese Mission for policy dialogue visited India recently; and
(e) if so, the outcome of the visit?

(a) & (b) Yes, Sir.
(c),(d)&(e) Government of India have sought Loan & Grant assistance
for fresh proposals after the Policy Dialogue with the ODA Mission
fielded by the Government of Japan during March, 2002. Govt. of Japan
has agreed to consider fresh proposals for assistance. Fresh proposals
for Loan & Grant assistance were prioritised in consultation with the
concerned Line Ministries and have since been posed to the Government
of Japan.
