(a) : Yes sir. The Election Commission of India has launched a portal named “Political Parties Registration Tracking Management System (PPRTMS)’’ to enable applicants to track the status of the applications filed to register their associations as political parties.
(b) & (c): An association seeking registration has to submit an application in hard copy to the Commission within a period of 30 days following the date of its formation, as per the guidelines prescribed by the Commission in exercise of powers conferred by Article 324 of the Constitution of India and Section 29A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951. The applicant who is applying for party registration w.e.f. 1st January, 2020 will be able to track the progress of his/her application through the Commission’s portal and also get status update by SMS and e-mail.
(d) A total of 118 (One hundred and Eighteen) associations have sought registration as political parties on PPRTMS since its launch w.e.f. 1st January, 2020.
