Question : Extension of Adarsh Smarak Scheme in Andhra Pradesh

(a) the progress in provision of facilities like cafeteria, Wi-Fi, Braille signages, interpretation centre, illumination to Salihundam in Srikakulam, Nagarjunakonda in Guntur and Veerabhadra temple (Lepakshi) in Anantapur under Adarsh Smarak Scheme; and

(b) whether the Government is contemplating to extend the scheme to 135 sites/centrally protected monuments in Andhra Pradesh?

(a) There is no scheme like “Adarsh Smarak Scheme”. However, 100 centrally protected monuments/sites are identified as Adarsh Smaraks for providing basic amenities as well as additional tourist facilities. The facilities provided are as under :

Veerabhadra temple (Lepakshi) Toilet, Drinking Water, Signages, Publication counter.
Buddhist remains, Salihundam Toilet, Drinking Water, Signages, Cafeteria.
Nagarjunakonda Toilet, Drinking Water, Cafeteria, Ramps Signages.


(b) Providing basic amenities and additional facilities is a continuous phenomenon which is taken up considering site requirements and availability of resources.
