Question : PERMISSION TO PRIVATE AIRLINES



(a) whether the Union Government has permitted Airone, Paramount Airways, King Fisher and Spice Jet Airways to operate their airlines;and

(b) if so, the routes for which permission has been granted?

(a):- The Government has permitted M/s King Fisher Airlines Ltd and M/s Royal Airways Ltd (now M/s. Spicejet Ltd) to operate scheduled services in the country. M/s. Paramount Airways Pvt. Ltd and M/s Air One Feeder Airline Pvt Ltd have been issued NOC to operate Scheduled and Non-Scheduled air transport services, respectively.

(b):- Government has laid down Route Dispersal Guidelines with a view to achieve better regulation of air transport services taking into account the need for air transport services of different regions of the country. It is, however, up to the airlines to provide air services to specific places depending upon the traffic demand and commercial viability As such, the airlines are free to operate anywhere in the country subject to compliance of Route Dispersal Guidelines issued by the Government
