(a) whether the Maulana Azad Education Foundation (MAEF) was initially established for weaker sections of minorities;
(b) if so, whether the Foundation is now open for all minorities;
(c) if so, the basis for taking such a decision;
(d) whether such a decision would weaken the objective of this Foundation; and
(e) if so, the details thereof and the steps taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) As per “Objects” mentioned under Memorandum of Association of Maulana Azad Education Foundation (MAEF),it was established to promote education amongst educationally backward sections of the society, and to formulate and implement educational schemes and plans for the benefit of educationally backward minorities in particular and weaker sections in general (Clause 2 of the objects).
(b) There has been no change in the original objectives of the MAEF.
