(a) to (d) The Government is implementing various schemes/programmes in the area of credit, technology, skill development & marketing, for the development and promotion of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and to enhance their competitiveness. The major schemes / programmes include the National Manufacturing Competitiveness Programme, Credit Guarantee Scheme, Credit Linked Capital Subsidy Scheme, Performance and Credit Rating Scheme, Cluster Development Programme, Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme, Market Development Assistance Scheme and Entrepreneurship & Skill Development Programme. These measures have helped the sector achieve an average annual growth rate of 10.8% over the period 2001-02 to 2006-07.
