(a) whether a large number of proposals for environmental clearance for the marble mines projects at Alwar (Arawali Hills) have been pending with the Government since 1992;
(b) if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor; and
(c) the steps being taken by the Government for speedy clearance of such proposals?

(a), (b) &(c) No Sir. The Ministry of Environment & Forests has empowered the concerned State Governments to take decision on proposals which require environmental clearance under the provisions of Aravalli Notification dated 7th May 1992 vide Notification S.O.1189 (E) dated 29th November 1999.
