Question : AMENDMENT IN LABOUR LAWS



(a) whether the Government is contemplating to enact comprehensive labour laws to safeguard the interests of the working class;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Government are also considering any plan for amending the labour laws in the era of liberalisation and to make our foreign trade competitive in the international market; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (d): Various labour laws have been enacted by the Government to deal with different aspects of labour. They are comprehensive in nature and are amended from time to time keeping in view the emerging needs. It is a continuous process.
