Question : CAMPUS PLACEMENTS



(a) whether a large number of students are quitting their jobs after only two or three years of getting placed through campus placements;

(b) if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor;

(c) whether the Government proposes to ask All Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and Central Universities to focus on placing students in the right jobs;

(d) if so, the details thereof and response received therefrom institution/university wise; and

(e) if not, the steps taken by the Government to ensure that student graduating from engineering and technological institutes are satisfactorily placed during campus placements?

(a) : No Madam. Institutes have no data on future career trajectories of the students after they are placed through campus placement process. However, some students may opt for higher studies after 2-3 years of work experience. Similarly some may shift for better opportunities and profiles after having 2-3 years of work experience given the dynamic nature of the Indian economy and job market.

(e): Question does not arise in view of (c) above.
